Starting your search - getting referrals

find a roofer complex task logo The success of any home (or business) improvement project depends on the careful management and execution of a variety of tasks and sub-projects. Because of the complex nature of any construction effort, roofing included, it is important that you find a roofer who has an established track record of success with past clients. The best way to find such a roofer is by obtaining referrals from other satisfied customers. After all, why trust the word of the contractor when you could get the real scoop directly from others who have hired them in the past? You can start by asking friends or family members who they have used in the past, and whether or not they would recommend them for use again. Another way to get referrals is to look-up online reviews of roofers in your area, to see how other customers evaluate their performance. Perhaps the best resource for finding a roofer is to contact your local Chamber of Commerce and Better Business Bureau, as these resources can provide tons of good information about roofers in your community.

Choosing the right roofer for you

Once you have narrowed down your search to say, your top three choices, set-up meetings with each so that you can meet your potential roofers face-to-face and really get a good idea of who they are and what their mission is. Look for things like enthusiasm and professionalism, as any good roofing contractor will be excited about the opportunity to earn your business and help find the best solutions for your needs. Be sure to ask relevant questions such as whether they are licensed in your state, whether they carry workman's compenstaion, and how many years of experience they have under their belt. Once you meet with your top choices, reflect on your meetings and make your choice!

Roof repair

Now setting aside all that's been said already you may find that you only need a roof repair. At this point you may not need a roofer if you're a handy man this may be a project that you want to tackle. Take a look at our video channel and you might find one of several videos on roof repairs that will give you enough information to perform a roof repair yourself. However, if roofing isn't something that you want to do an actual handy man might have enough experience to tackle a simple roof repair like replacing a pipe vent. If the roof is leaking in a valley or next to a wall I'd advising hiring a qualified roofing company for the task. Be sure to ask the repair man how they plan on repairing the roof. Applying tar over a leaky area isn's the solution. Most of the time shingles will need to be removed and replaced. Flashing may need to be installed and it wouldn't be idea for a handy man to tackle a large roof repair. repair.   Roof install     We understand that the process to find a roofer, or any home improvement contractor can be arduous. By employing these search techniques we are sure that you'll be able to find an integrity roofer who will get the job done right!
