Veteran-owned Family-run since 1990 650+ Google reviews

Our Colorado Springs roofers' service areas are the towns of El Paso, Teller, Douglas, Elbert and Pueblo counties, from Monument and Black Forest to Woodland Park, Parker, Elbert and Pueblo, all served from one office at 115 N Union Blvd. The roof is the same job everywhere; the rules are not. The Pikes Peak Regional Building Department (PPRBD) permits roofs in Colorado Springs, most of El Paso County and Woodland Park, while Teller County, Douglas County, the Town of Parker, the Town of Larkspur, Elbert County and the Pueblo departments each run their own. The tables below show who issues the roof permit in each area we serve and the one local rule most likely to change your project, with a full page for each town.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does the building department matter when I hire a roofer?

It decides the rules your roof is built to and who may do the work. PPRBD, Douglas County, the Town of Parker, Teller County, Elbert County and the Pueblo departments each set their own permit thresholds, inspections and contractor licensing, so a bid written for one may miss a requirement in another.

Does PPRBD issue roof permits outside Colorado Springs?

Yes. PPRBD serves Colorado Springs, unincorporated El Paso County, Fountain, Woodland Park, Manitou Springs, Monument, Green Mountain Falls, Palmer Lake and Calhan.

Do you serve towns that are not on this list?

Often, yes. Call our Colorado Springs office with your address and we will tell you whether we can inspect it and which building department covers it.

What is the 7,000-foot rule I keep seeing?

Several departments change their requirements at 7,000 feet. PPRBD requires an ice barrier above that elevation and raises its design snow load from 43 to 57 psf; Douglas County adds high-wind nailing and Class G shingles. Your permit receipt or county records show your property's elevation.
