Key numbers
103 verified hail storms with stones of 1.5 inches or larger reached El Paso County, which includes Colorado Springs, from 2000 to 2025 in the storm records we keep; the largest measured 4.5 inches (softball size) on July 13, 2011 (NOAA NCEI).

A storm counts when the library lists El Paso County among the areas it hit. Each hail size is the storm's largest report, which may have fallen in a neighboring county, and insured losses cover every area the storm hit.
A commercial roof in Colorado Springs can be repaired, restored with a coating, or replaced, and the deciding factor is usually what is under the membrane: if the insulation is still dry, repair or restoration can add years at a fraction of replacement cost; if water has soaked it, replacement is the better investment. Integrity Roofing and Painting inspects low-slope and metal commercial roofs, documents what we find with photos, and gives building owners options with upfront pricing.
Systems we work with
| System | Typical use |
|---|---|
| TPO | White, heat-welded single-ply membrane for offices, retail, and warehouses |
| EPDM | Rubber membrane, common on older low-slope buildings |
| Modified bitumen | Multi-ply asphalt membrane, tough under foot traffic |
| PVC | Heat-welded single-ply, good where chemicals or grease are present |
| Metal | Standing seam and corrugated panels for steeper commercial roofs, shops, and storage |
| Coatings | Restoration of sound roofs: acrylic, silicone, or similar fluid-applied systems |
Asphalt shingles are not permitted below a 2:12 pitch, so low-slope sections always need a membrane or a metal system rated for that slope.
Designed for Pikes Peak conditions
PPRBD’s design criteria for the region call for:
- Snow: a flat-roof snow load of 30 psf below 7,000 feet of grade plane elevation and 40 psf at or above it, with unbalanced loading per ASCE 7-16.
- Wind: a 130 mph basic wind speed for most buildings (risk category I and II), 135 mph for category III, and 140 mph for category IV, with Exposure C.
Those numbers drive membrane attachment, perimeter securement, and whether a heavier system can go on an existing structure.
Commercial buildings we serve
Multifamily, churches, retail centers, offices, warehouses, storage facilities, and industrial buildings. For repairs, see our article on commercial roof repair. After a storm, our storm damage repair page explains how documentation works: the claim stays with the owner, and our photos make sure nothing gets missed in the scope. Owners and managers can also use our commercial and HOA roofing guide, compare low-slope roof systems for Colorado hail, see what a commercial roof inspection covers, and set up a roof maintenance program.
Permits and documentation
Commercial reroofs in Colorado Springs and El Paso County are permitted through PPRBD. We pull the permit, coordinate inspections, and give you a written scope so your board, tenants, or lender can see exactly what is being done.
