While many manufacturers advertise three-tab shingles as having a 20 year lifespan the truth of the matter is quite different. With exposure to harsh weather and the elements most three-tab shingles will only last 10-15 years.

Three-tab shingles just can’t stand up to the greater durability of architectural and luxury shingles. They’re thinner and lighter which makes them very susceptible to wind and impact damage.
