Roofing in Denver is governed by the City and County of Denver’s roofing rules: every replacement needs a permit, a repair needs one when it covers more than 10% of the roof or two squares (whichever is smaller), and shingles must meet a minimum wind rating that rises toward the foothills, from 115 mph east of Federal Boulevard to 140 mph between Sheridan and Kipling.
